Open Enrollment for Flexible Spending Accounts Extended to December 7, 2012

MA State employees – if you have not enrolled or re-enrolled in the GIC’s pre-tax Flexible Spending Accounts, you now have until Friday, December 7 to do so, a three-week extension.  Flexible Spending Accounts save on average $250 for every $1,000 contributed.  We encourage you to take advantage of these money-saving programs.

by your medical, dental, and vision plans?

    • Orthodontia and dental co-insurance
    • Eye glasses, prescription sunglasses, and contact lenses
    • Smoking cessation classes
    • Chiropractor and acupuncture visits

    Other uses:

    • Physician office visit and prescription drug copays
    • Calendar year medical and mental health deductibles
    • Inpatient hospital, outpatient surgery and emergency room copays

            2) Dependent Care Assistance Program: Pay for day care and/or elderly dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis.

Save on 2013 taxes – enroll no later than Friday, December 7.  For additional program details, new participant enrollment form, and re-enrollment instructions for current participants please see and return all forms to your Personnel/Payroll Department.
