The National Correctional Employees Union attended a fundraiser in Taunton, Massachusetts on November 14, 2009 for the National Law Enforcement Officers  Museum.  The event sponsored by Tim Cahill from the Norfolk County Sheriff's Department was called, "An Evening of Humor for Heroes" .  The night included a slide show presentation of the National Law Enforcement Museum by Director John Shanks, dinner, comedian, dancing, and raffles.  The event was dedicated to the memories of Massachusetts State Police Captain Richard Cashin and Weymouth Police Officer Michael Davey.  The event was on overwhelming success and raised donations for the National Law Enforcement Museum.   Michael Pires, President of NCEU Local 407-Bristol County Captains and Majors said, "the fundraiser was an exceptional event that raised awareness for an important cause that recognizes and pays tribute to our fallen brothers and sisters in corrections and law enforcement as a whole".
